The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually, and violations are labeled “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

Speedway

Location: 110 Opportunity Parkway, Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

No violations found.

Dec. 5

Mom & Pop’s Grocery

Location: 203 S. Main St., Maxwell

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations: C/R — keep raw meats separate from ready-to-eat foods to prevent contamination, corrected; NC/R — continue to clean to remove food debris from around hand sink and floors around store, to be corrected by March 1.

Family Fun and Fitness

Location: 5151 W U.S. Highway 40, Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations: C/R — date-mark yogurt smoothies mixes after opened, corrected.

Dec. 6

Soupherb

Location: 18 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations: NC — provide paper towels at hand sink near three-compartment sink, corrected; C — go over with employees when to wash hands and have them be mindful of what is being touched with gloves on, corrected.

Dairy Queen

Location: 801 W. Main St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations: C — employees need to change gloves/wash hands after leaving the food prep area and touching boxes before touching food, corrected; C — employee seen with sucker in mouth while in the food prep area, corrected; NC/R — repair caulking at hand sink, also seal along wall where it meets stainless steel panel behind grill, to be corrected by March 1.

Location: 815 W. Main St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations: C — expired milk in cooler, corrected; C — chili/cheese sauce not hot enough, container ajar and not keeping heat in, corrected.

Burger King

Location: 2706 N. County Road 600W, Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violation: NC — clean vent above food prep line, to be corrected by March 1.

Dec. 27

Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt

Location: 1917 Melody Lane, Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations: C/R — potentially hazardous ready-to-eat foods that contain liquid milk and are refrigerated or held above freezing need to have date of expiration of milk with batch, to be corrected by Dec. 29; C — working containers such as spray bottles need to be marked with the common name of the chemical mixture it contains, to be corrected by Dec. 29.
