Donald Keith Loy, 71, of Greenfield, went to Heaven on Monday, January 9, 2017, at home surrounded by his family after fighting cancer for four years. He was born on November 5, 1945, in New Martinsville, WV, a son of the late Charles and Elda (Winland) Loy.
Don served his country in the Navy during Vietnam War. He cared for his younger siblings and his giving heart continued throughout is life. He moved to Indiana where he met his wife, Mary Lou, and worked as a Boiler Engineer for over 40 years at Ford Motor Company. Don was a dedicated family man and a hard worker.
Those left to cherish his memory include daughters, Ashleigh (husband, Robert) Coates of Carthage, Ind. and Joanna Taylor of Anderson; grandchildren, Amber Reid, Joey Reid and Kayla Thurman; great-grandchildren, Zoe Cousert, Maecy Coates, Zoe Coates, Joseph Reid and Mason Burris; sister, Faye Ann (husband, Ross) Schoonover and brother, Scott Loy.
Along with his parents; he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Lou (2004) and brothers, David and Roger Loy.
Family will receive friends from Noon until the time of service at Heritage Funeral Care in Knightstown. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Concord Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Funeral Care to assist the family with funeral expenses.
