Eastern Hancock lost to Covenant Christian 67-54 at home Thursday.

The Royals, who are now 8-8 this season, were led in scoring by senior forward Emiley Carlton, who finished with 19 points. Bailey Allen added 14 in the loss, while Liberty Durham totaled eight.

Carlton also led the team with nine rebounds, and Peyton West and Alexis Lewman added five.

Haley Best led Eastern Hancock, which trailed by just two points at halftime, with three assists.

The Royals were outscored 16-13 in the third quarter and 22-14 in the fourth.

Eastern Hancock returns to action Jan. 12 at home against Morristown.

Wise reaches milestone in HHC win

Greenfield-Central senior forward Madison Wise reached 1,000 rebounds for her career and the Cougars dominated Delta at home Thursday in a 73-32 win.

Wise, who is closing in on 2,000 career points, continues to build upon her school-record career rebounds record. On Thursday, she finished with 34 points and 10 rebounds against the Eagles.

Also for the Cougars, freshman Hannah Farrell added nine points and nine rebounds, while guards Kyrstin Bond and Kate Real finished with six points.

Greenfield-Central has now won seven of eight contests since the return of senior guard Katie Helgason, who finished with five points and four assists against Delta. Overall, the Cougars are 11-7 and 2-2 in the Hoosier Heritage Conference.
