Emogene Alice Young, 98, of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, January, 4, 2017, at Morristown Manor in Morristown. She was born January 15, 1918, in Warrington, Ind., the daughter of the late Freeman and Florence (Chew) Walker.

Emogene was employed with Marsh Supermarket for 15 years and was a member of the Trinity Park United Methodist Church in Greenfield. She was a member of the Jessie Dorsey Circle, assistant secretary of Greenfield brotherhood and sisterhood and loved to cook, sew and take care of her grandchildren.

Survivors include sons, Ronald L. (Sondra) Young of Greenfield, Gerald G. (Peggy) Young of St. Mary’s, Ga.; four grandchildren, Ronda Woldmoe, Craig Young, Tony Young, Michelle Christoforo; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Paul F. Walker; sisters, Sarah Worland, Ruth Ann Helm; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald in 1980; sister, Mary Creighton; and two brothers, Hugh and Robert Walker.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to Noon, Monday, January 9, at Trinity Park United Methodist Church in Greenfield. Funeral service will be held at Noon on Monday, January 9, at the church with Pastor Michael Manning officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
