Reverend Dr. James P. Carcia III, 70, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016. Dr. Jim is a longtime resident of Greenfield, and former pastor of Nameless Creek Christian Church in Greenfield.

Dr. Jim was born on August 24, 1946, and raised in Pittsburg, Penn. He received his B.A. from Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa. Dr. Jim then received his Masters and Doctorate in Theology, Philosophy and Jungian Psychology from Andover-Newtown Theological Seminary in Boston, Mass. During his ministry, Dr. Jim has served churches in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Iowa, Missouri and Indiana.

Dr. Jim is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nancy Carcia; his daughter, Lisa Brunty of Columbus, Ind.; his son, James P. Carcia IV of Greenfield; his sister, Nancy Colella of St. Louis, Mo.; and four grandchildren.

Dr. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Martha Jean and James P. Carcia Jr., of Pittsburg, Penn.; a brother, Clifford Carcia of Fairfield, Iowa; and a great nephew, Dustin Yeoman of Ollie, Iowa.

Services will be held Monday, January 2, 2017 at Nameless Creek Christian Church, 3856 N. 800 E., Greenfield, IN 46140. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. with a memorial service following at 11 a.m.
