Dorvin F. Rihm, 92 of Greenfield passed away Monday, December 19, 2016, at Franklin United Methodist Home, Franklin. He was born June 25, 1924, to the late Fred S. and Carrie M. (Ebbing) Rihm.

Dorvin served in the Army during WWII receiving the Purple Heart and Silver Star. He attended both Butler University, Rose Hulman University and enjoyed a long career with Eli Lilly retiring in 1985.

He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, American Legion Post 119, the Greenfield Elks Club and was active with the American Red Cross for many years.

He is survived by son, Daniel D. (Sheila) Rihm of Avon; daughter, Nancy A. (Gene) Leffler of Franklin; three grandchildren, Matt Bennett, Katie Day, Chris Rihm and three great-grandchildren.

Dorvin is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Ruth D. Rihm whom he married May 30, 1947.

A funeral mass will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, December 22, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 513 North Jefferson Blvd., Greenfield, IN 46140 with Father Aaron Jenkins officiating. Private burial at Park Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made in Dorvin’s memory to the donor’s favorite charity.
