City Council honors late councilman
GREENFIELD — The Greenfield City Council honored the late John Patton, who died Monday at age 74, with a moment of silence at Wednesday’s meeting.
Patton was serving his second term on the city council when he died following a brief illness. His spot in the city council chambers held a photo and a bouquet in his honor.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of our own,” said Greenfield Mayor Chuck Fewell. “John was a loyal person, and he was especially loyal to his constituents. He often came to me, and he always made sure they were taken care of.”
