Patronuia “Pat” Elaine (Sparks) Posey, 70, of Greenfield, passed away Friday, December 9, 2016, at her home. She was born on August 2, 1946, in Mayking, Ky., as the daughter of Rev. William “Bill” and Susie (Webb) Sparks.

She graduated from Whitesburg High School in 1964. After high school she attended Morehead State University in Kentucky. She married Richard Lee Posey on July 16, 1966, in Mayking, Ky.

Pat was the owner-operator of Orphan Annies Mercantile-Posey Shack in Greenfield for more than 30 years. Pat was a member of the Indianapolis Art League and the Craft & Hobby Association. Her hobbies included painting, crafting and cooking. She loved spending time with family and friends.

Pat is survived by her husband, Richard L. Posey of Greenfield; sons, Byron Posey of Indianapolis and Bryce Posey of Greenfield; daughter, Atheana (Robert) Butcher of Greenfield; siblings, Francis Robinson of Whitesburg, Ky., Gloria R. Haynes of New Palestine, Carl R. Sparks of Bowling Green, Ky. and Larry D. Sparks of Mayking, Ky.; five grandchildren, Andrienna, Brittany, A’Driella, Micaela and Christopher; and one great-grandson, Eli.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Juanita, Denoral, Maewood, Carnell, William, Ronnie and R.F.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, December 16, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at Noon on Saturday, December 17, also at the mortuary. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Church Cemetery in Greenfield.
