Wendall Earl Short, 64, of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at his home. He was born on January 8, 1952, in Indianapolis as the son of Carley F. and Norma J. (Webster) Short.

He graduated from Howe High School in 1970. He married Maurine (Martin) on July 15, 1972.

Wendall worked for Connor Corporation for 26 years and then was self-employed before retiring in 2011. Mr. Short was a member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed guns, fishing, karaoke and watching television.

Wendall is survived by his wife, Maurine Short of Greenfield; son, Josh Short of Canton, Ill.; daughter, Melanie Short of Fishers; brothers, David (Marty) Short, Charles (Joella) Short and Hal (Patty) Coonfield; sisters, Rebecca (Ed) Rogers and Lisa (David) Heldman; and three grandchildren, Madison Short, Tyler Short and Carter Short.

Wendall was preceded in death by his father, Carley Short; and mother, Norma Jean Short-Coonfield.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to the Association of Frontotemporal Degeneration, Radnor Station Building 2, Suite 320, 290 King of Prussia Rd, Radnor, PA 19087, or envelopes will be available at the mortuary.
