Danny R. Taylor, 66, of Greenfield, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016, at his residence. He was born on February 23, 1950, in Indianapolis as the son of Clyde E. and Alice F. (Lee) Taylor.
Danny served in the Army for three years and the Navy for 17 years. He married Beverly E. (Boyer) on September 16, 2000, in Virginia.
He worked for the Navy as an MR1 and with Aircom Manufacturing for 20 years before retiring in 2012. Mr. Taylor was a member of Far Eastsiders Car Club and Brandywine Christian Church. He enjoyed fishing, boating and camping. Danny loved racing, hotrods, building hotrods and attending cruise ins and car shows.
Danny is survived by his loving wife, Beverly E. Taylor of Greenfield; daughters, Denise (David) Gregory of Virginia Beach, Va., Dawn (Courtney) Tucker Wirtz of Greenfield and Jamie (Nick) Tucker Fiano of Knightstown; sisters, Linda (Dennis) Thompson of Avon, Ind., Donna (Greg) Herzog of St. Augustine, Fla.; and six grandchildren, Cayden, David J., Kael, Silas, Hadleigh and Rhemi.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Taylor and father, Clyde Taylor.
A memorial gathering will be held from Noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 27, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A celebration of life service will take place immediately following the gathering at 2 p.m. Pastor Mark Wright will be officiating.
