William Daniel Branson, 84, of Lakewood Ranch, Florida joined our Heavenly Father on November 8, 2016, at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. He was born July 23, 1932, in Indianapolis to Melvin Carl & Lena Louise Schnepf Branson.
After completing his education, William was employed at Bell laboratories until retirement in 1989, when he moved to Florida with his wife, Sherry. William was a hard worker and enjoyed traveling but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. William dedicated his life to serving the Lord and was one of the founding members of Harvest UMC of LWR.
Preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Beryl.
William is survived by his wife, Sherry Terrell Branson; daughter, Cheryl (Luke) Gerardi; sons, William (Pam), Robert (Mary), David (Tina), James (Donna) Branson, Mike, Mark (Cheryl) Highsmith; brothers, Lewis (Marilyn) and Melvin (Connie) Branson; sisters, Bertha (Dorman) Blackburn, Josephine (late, Richard Walker), Rosetta (Alvin) Short, Theresa (Robert) Wilson; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services for William will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 19, with visitation from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Hendryx Mortuary New Palestine Chapel, 19 E. Main St. New Palestine, IN 46163. Burial will follow at New Palestine Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Hendryx Mortuaries.
