GREENFIELD — Local science-fiction author George Kramer will be signing copies of his new book from noon until 4 p.m. Sunday at Hometown Comics, 1506 N. State St. “To Walk Among the Gods” is the sixth book in Kramer’s Arcadis series. All books in the series will be available for purchase on site.

Workshop kicks off novel-writing month

GREENFIELD — Author Sarah J. Schmitt will kick off National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) with teens in grades 6 through age 19 at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road. The challenge of NaNoWriMo is to write an entire novel in the month of November. Schmitt’s published book, “It’s a Wonderful Death” began as a NaNoWriMo project. She will offer tips and pointers on how to survive the month-long writing challenge.

Decorate vehicles for Trunk-or-Treat

FORTVILLE — Fortville’s second annual Trunk-or-Treat will take place from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday at the Town Hall Park, 6280 W. 800 N. This year’s event includes a photo booth, a variety of games, free popcorn and face-painting. Participants are invited to decorate their cars for a prize.
