Make your own gingerbread house

FISHERS — Learn to make a gingerbread house at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Conner Prairie, 13400 Allisonville Road. Professional baker Rascia Johnson will discuss patterns, share ideas, and teach the basics of gingerbread recipes and construction for a lasting gingerbread house. Museum art-making workshops set for veterans

INDIANAPOLIS — In honor of Veterans Day, the Indiana State Museum will host two free art-making workshops from 12:30 to 2 p.m. and 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 6. The workshops, facilitated by art therapist Kristi Gmutza, use a holistic approach to art-making. No formal training or expertise in art is required. The first session is family-friendly inviting children of all ages to participate along with the veterans and soldiers in their lives. 500 Festival princess applicants wanted

INDIANAPOLIS — Applications are now being accepted for the 2017 Indianapolis 500 Festival Princess Program. The application, available online at 500festival.com/princessprogram, is due Jan. 8. Applicants must be Indiana residents, between the ages of 18 and 23, be enrolled full-time in an accredited Indiana college or university, maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher, be unmarried with no children and be actively involved in at least one extracurricular activity.
