Friends of Library conducts book sale

GREENFIELD — The Friends of the Library will conduct a book sale from Friday through Monday at the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road. For sale will be gently-used books, DVDs and CDs. Visit the library website at hcplibrary.org for daily sale times. Browsing is free and books are at bargain prices.

Parks & Recreation offers crocheting

GREENFIELD — Greenfield Parks and Recreation offers an ongoing crochet class for ages 55 and older from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesdays at the Patricia Elmore Center, 280 N. Apple St. Attendees should bring their own materials.

Teachers tell classroom tales

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis area’s first Teacher Story Slam will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Ash & Elm Cider Company, 2104 E. Washington St. Real educators will tell stories of hardship, hilarity and hope of the classroom. Admission is free, but attendees should RSVP at eventbrite.com. This event is sponsored by Teach for America.

Zombies walk goes through Broad Ripple

INDIANAPOLIS — The Broad Ripple Zombie walk, conducted at 5 p.m. Saturday, is Indiana’s largest Zombie-themed flash mob. Participation requires a 10-lb. donation of canned food to the Gleaners Food Bank booth. A donation of more than 10 lbs. will be rewarded with a T-shirt. Other zombie-themed activities include a zombie-themed carnival for kids, a zombie feast at the Broad Ripple Ice Cream Station, 901 E. 64th St., and the Zombie Prom for 9 p.m. to midnight.
