GREENFIELD — A Wayne County man was jailed this week amid allegations he touched an employee at a Greenfield gas station inappropriately.
Russell Fegan, 41, 10489 Milton Road, Milton, faces a Level 6 felony count of sexual battery, court records show.
Police began investigating Fegan after a clerk at a local gas station reported a stranger grabbed her while she was working one evening, according to court documents. The woman said she didn’t know the man’s name, but he is a regular customer at the gas station.
Employees at the gas station called 911 a few days later when the man returned. Investigators interviewed Fegan, who admitted he had touched the woman accidentally and had apologized immediately, court records show.
Cameras from inside the gas station caught Fegan’s actions, police said.
The Level 6 felony count Fegan faces carries a penalty of six months to 2½ years. He was being held in the Hancock County Jail on $1,000 bond at press time.
