WILKINSON — A teen girl was airlifted after a crash Friday night in rural Hancock County, police said.
The car hit a pole in the 8600 block of East County Road 650N in Wilkinson just before 8 p.m. Friday.
Neighbors called 911 after hearing the accident, dispatch records show.
The vehicle overturned and came to rest in a nearby field.
The driver, whose name had not released at press time, was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital after complaining of pain to the head and both legs, officials said.
The cause of the accident is being investigated by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department. Police believe speed was a factor in the crash, officials said.
