Mt. Vernon’s volleyball team cruised past Warren Central on Thursday, 3-0.

The Marauders won 25-21, 25-11, 25-13.

Senior outside hitter Jaclyn Bulman reached a career milestone in the win _ Mt. Vernon’s 22nd this season. She finished with a team-high 10 kills on Thursday and surpassed 1,500 for her career.

Teammates Ashton Barr and Sarah Herman each finished with seven kills.

Julia Wayer, who surpassed 1,500 career digs on Sept. 27, finished with a team-high 12 against Warren Central. Junior Grace Hurst added seven digs and three aces.

The Marauders, who will play Eastern Hancock today at the Hancock County tournament, are currently ranked No. 8 overall in the state, according to the Z-Ratings.

Cougars top Hauser

Greenfield-Central’s volleyball team topped Class 1A No. 6 Hauser on Thursday, 3-1.

The Cougars won 25-19, 25-17, 23-25, 25-20 to improve to 16-9 this season.

Emily Diehr led the team with 14 kills while Laura Banton recorded 13.

Haleigh Pribble and Morgan Grigsby each finished with six.

Diehr also added seven block assists.

Defensively, Hannah Burkhart led Greenfield-Central with 28 digs. Banton tallied 13.

Setter Molly Broome paced the offense with 43 assists.

The Cougars will play Palestine today at the county tournament.

Royals handle Waldron

Eastern Hancock’s volleyball team swept Waldron on Thursday, 3-0.

The Royals won 25-22, 27-25, 25-18 in straight sets. No individual statistics were available.
