Tommy Van Mummert
Tommy Van “Tom” Mummert, 87, of Carthage died Sept. 30, 2016, at Hancock Memorial Hospital. He was born April 26, 1929, Shelby County, the son of the late Chancy B. and Audrey Faye (Sumpter) Mummert.
He is survived by three sons, David (Mary) Mummert of Arlington, Ind., Anthony (Linda) Mummert of Morristown, Timothy Mummert of Lebanon, Mo.; two daughters, Beth Lillard of Knightstown and Lori (Mrs. Clarke) Mercer and Greenfield; a stepdaughter, Debra Jones of Rushville; a son-in-law, Gene Schuyler of Jamestown, Ky.; two sisters, Edna Barr and Janet Swick; a brother, Charles Robert Mummert; 23 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to his wife, Olla Kay Wilson Frazee; he was preceded in death by three siblings; a daughter, Cathy Schuyler and a stepdaughter, Christina Miller.
Graveside services and military honors will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, Oct. 7, at East Hill Cemetery.
