Brooke Alexandra Buttler
Brooke Alexandra Buttler, 18, of New Palestine, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on June 30, 1998 in Greenfield as the daughter of James N. and JamaJo (Miller) Buttler.
Brooke graduated from New Palestine High School in 2016. She planned to attend Hanover College where she would play softball and pursue a degree in the medical field. Brooke was a mentor for the New Palestine Youth League and the Indiana Primetime Softball Organization. She was also a member of the TN Softball Organization. She worked for B & C’s Hideout Restaurant in New Palestine.
Brooke is survived by her parents, Jim and Jama Buttler of New Palestine; brother, Ty Buttler of New Palestine; grandparents, Dave Miller of Carthage, Rick (Shirley) Buttler of Indianapolis and Judy (Dick) Martin of New Whiteland; aunts and uncles, Dusty (Lena) Miller and Ryan (Stephanie) Buttler; cousins, Jake, Luke and Lucy Miller, and Anna and Owen Buttler; great-grandmothers, Mary Miller and Emily Whalen.
Brooke was preceded in death by her grandmother, Verna Miller.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from Noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2016, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140.
Brooke’s family requests that, in lieu of flowers, anyone who wishes to make a contribution may do so by donating blood in memory of Brooke.
