The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually, and violations are labeled “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

Sept. 3

Brandywine Elementary School

Location: 413 E. County Road 400S, Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

No violations found.

Sept. 6

Jimmy John’s

Location: 1310 N. St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC – lips of cups need to be protected, keep cups in original sleeves, corrected.

Sept. 7

Tuttle Orchards

Location: 5717 N. County Road 300W, Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C – need to date-mark goat cheese in sweet shot, corrected; NC – need to have correct sanitizing test strips and they need to be used each time sanitizing solution is prepared, corrected.

Sept. 8

The Mug

Location: 117 N. Apple St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

No violations found.

Greenfield Intermediate School and Harris Elementary

Location: 200 W, Park Ave., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C – hot hold unit for Harris Elementary only at 120 degrees, will call service; C – sanitizing solution in buckets too low, corrected; C – spray bottle with glass cleaner needs to be labeled, corrected; NC/R – freezer door inside release needs to be repaired, need to use ‘buddy system’ until repaired, to be corrected by Dec. 1.

No violations found.

Greenfield-Central High School

Location: 810 N. Broadway, Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC – need to allow equipment and utensils to air-dry before stacking on top of other equipment, corrected.
