Edward Lee Shirley, 89, beloved husband of the late Juanita June Shirley, died on Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at Covenant Place of Sumter. Born in Greenfield, he was the son of the late Leroy Shirley and Ethyl Andrews Shirley.
Surviving are two sons, Steven Wayne Shirley and his wife, Cynthia, of Sumter, SC and Jeffery Lynn Shirley and his wife, Alice, of Anderson; one brother, Raymond Shirley of Greenfield; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents; he was preceded in death by two sons, Phillip Edward Shirley and Kevin Leroy Shirley; two sisters, Mary Jones and Margaret Bidwell; and one granddaughter, Stephanie Shirley.
Pallbearers will be Gary Haynie, Gary Craig, David Craig, Jim Boughton, Chris Boughton, and Greg Maxwell. Honorary pallbearer will be Camden Arnold.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Monday, October 3, at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229, with the Rev. Michael Morris of the Indianapolis First Church of The Nazarene officiating. The family will receive visitors from 1 p.m. until service time.
