Food inspections

The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually, and violations are labeled “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

Sept. 1

Lincoln Square Pancake House

Location: 901 E. Broadway St., Fortville

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C/R – top of reach-in cooler on line warm, to be corrected by Sept. 2; C – need to go over with employees when to change gloves/wash hands especially when working with raw animal products such as eggs and chicken, corrected; NC – wiping cloths need to be kept in sanitizer between uses, corrected.

Panda Chinese Restaurant

Location: 21 S. Main St., Fortville

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C – wash hands at hand sink before starting to prepare food, corrected; NC/R – clean handles on freezers and inside freezer, equipment/table surfaces to remove debris/grease, to be corrected by Dec. 1; NC – do not store clean knives with unclean knives, corrected; NC – wash containers used to store food between uses, to be corrected by Sept. 6; NC – repair leak at three-compartment sink, to be corrected by Dec. 1.
