Jesse Austeen Cole, 95, of Fortville, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System in Lawrenceburg, Tenn.

He was a native of Appleton, Tenn., retired from General Motors, and a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church in Pendleton. Mr. Cole served his country honorably in the Army during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Vester and Mary Hurn Cole; his wife, Ruth Clayton Cole; two grandchildren, Timothy Cole and Nicole Louden; two sisters, Othella Singleton and Theoda Guthrie; and one brother, Austin Cole.

He is survived by daughters,Barbara Miles (Jackie), Lawrenceburg, Tenn., Lynn (Robbie) Louden of Fortville, Bev (Dean) Sprague of Hickory, N.C.; sons, Ronald (Karen) Cole of Gainesville, Fla., Don (Ann) Cole of Cedar Hill, Tx., Sam (Renee) Cole of Naperville, Ill.; 19 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, TN. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, October 1, at Immanuel Baptist Church, 709 E. Gaines St, Lawrenceburg, TN. A Memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 1, at Immanuel Baptist Church with Robert Hargis and Arnold Brown officiating. Inurnment will follow at 12:30 p.m. at New Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in Lawrence County, TN with full military honors.
