Elizabeth A. “Betty” Fentz, 80, of Fortville, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was born May 16, 1936, in Indianapolis to the late Carl and Anna (Beyer) Lauber.

Betty was a 1955 graduate of St. Agnes High School and was very proud of earning her CNA Certificate at the age of 70. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Fortville where she sang in the choir. Betty was also actively involved in the Indianapolis Liederkranz where she also sang in the Damen Choir.

Betty is survived by children, Frederick “Fritz” (Nancy) Fentz of Fortville, Karl (Angela) Fentz of Greenfield, Annelore (Dan) Palmer of Greenfield, and Marianna (Dwayne) Garrity of Fortville; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sister Mary Katherine Hermance of Huntington Beach, Cali.

She was preceded in death by husband, Thomas E. Fentz in 2008; daughter, Katrina Fentz in 2012; grandson, Bryan Fentz; brother, Frank Lauber; and sister, Charlene Shaughnessy.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, September 26, at Seals Funeral Home with a Rosary service beginning at 7:30 p.m. and from 10 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 27. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 27. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 523 S Merrill St, Fortville, IN 46040.
