HANCOCK COUNTY — This year’s Flower Parade at the Riley Festival, Oct. 7, is open to all Hancock County children, ages 6-12, and their families.

The change comes in response to Greenfield-Central schools being out on fall break during the annual event; Greenfield-Central children typically walk in the parade.

School children march down Main Street to lay flowers at the foot of the James Whitcomb Riley statue during the event, which begins at 12:45 p.m. Children are asked to bring their own flowers to the parade. The flower remain on display throughout the festival.

The deadline to register is today.
