Karen Sue (Boltz) Sanford, 70, Greenfield, passed away Friday, September 16, 2016. She was born on March 9, 1946, in Bargersville, Ind. as the daughter of Walter and Helen (Swartz) Boltz.
Karen graduated from Center Grove High School in 1964. She married Vernon John Sanford on November 18, 1967. in Greenfield.
Mrs. Sanford was a member of United Church of God in Indianapolis. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Karen is survived by her daughters, Anita (Nate) Herrick of Bradford, New Hampshire and Mychele (Jeremy) Lannom of Clarksville, Tenn.; and grandchildren, Sam, Joe, Clay and Gus Herrick, Cierra, Jorja and Hunter Lannom.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Helen Boltz; husband, Vernon Sanford; brother, Ronald Boltz; and sister, Beverly Nash.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at Noon on Thursday, September 22, also at the mortuary. Pastor Bart Bornhorst will be officiating. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery in Greenfield.
