Doris Maxine (Long) Morris, 86, Greenfield, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at her home. She was born on January 6, 1930, to the late Elvin and Fern (Pritchard) Long formerly of Liberty, Ind.
Doris graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis and would marry the love of her life John Daniel Morris on October 6, 1947. She was a homemaker for most of her life in Blue River Township and volunteered at Hancock Regional Hospital. She also worked for Wasson’s Department Store and Western Electric. Doris was a member of the Westland Friends Church for many years.
Surviving Doris is her sister, Marjorie (Long) Wissler; daughters, Ellen (Robert) Stevens; Jan (Ronnie) Pitcock; three grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents listed above; husband, John “Danny” Morris; grandsons, Todd McPherson; Brandon Pitcock; three brothers, Manford (Wilma), Allen (Elizabeth), and Floyd (Marie) Long.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield, 1780 West Main St., Greenfield, IN 46140. A graveside service will immediately follow the visitation at 3 p.m. at Park Cemetery in Greenfield, 621 S State St, Greenfield, IN 46140.
