Reader: Work-release facility bad for community

To the editor:

I have spoken with many in this community who are fed up with work-release being located in Greenfield. How can we get this facility moved out of our town to Cumberland or McCordsville or anywhere but here? It brings all the criminals to our town and releases them onto our streets, restaurants and stores. It is also keeping our wages low.

We don’t want to hand our credit card over to a thief. Many of the people in work release don’t live here and don’t care about our community. Do you really want someone who couldn’t care less about you or your community handling your food?

Is the demise of Greenfield really worth whatever kickback the city or county gets from work release? Please, everyone who agrees, speak up.
