Greenfield man to compete in district speech contest

GREENFIELD — A local Toastmaster is heading to district competition.

Joshua Hahn won first place in the Greenfield Toastmasters’ humorous speech contest with “I Punched a Goose” and will go on to compete at the Toastmasters Area 32 Humorous Speech Contest 6:30 p.m. Sept. 20 at Faith Presbyterian Church, 8160 Hague Road, Indianapolis.

Brett Davis placed second in the local contest with his recitation of “The Many Rejections of Brett Davis.”

Toastmasters is an international nonprofit organization, the goal of which is to provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth, according to its website.
