Tickets available for Marauders’ Indy game

On Saturday, Oct. 8, the Mt. Vernon football team will face the Shelbyville Golden Bears at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The two Hoosier Heritage Conference rivals will play at 4:45 p.m. in the second of three games.

Presale tickets for the game are available in the Mt. Vernon athletic office from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Monday through Friday. Presale adult tickets $11 and $8 for students. Children ages 2 and under are admitted for free. Tickets at the door of the game are priced at $15.

Catchings, Kellogg earn 2016 Pathfinder Award

INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Sports Corp will present the 2016 Pathfinder Award to Indiana Fever’s Tamika Catchings and CBS Sports studio analyst Clark Kellogg.

The Pathfinder Award, presented annually since 1988, honors individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to improving the lives of America’s youth.

They will be recognized at the Indiana Roof Ballroom during a luncheon Nov. 4.

Indians lead MILB in 2016 attendance

INDIANAPOLIS — Of the 160 teams that make up United States-based Minor League Baseball, Victory Field and the Indianapolis Indians ended the 2016 season with the highest overall attendance at 636,888. The Tribe edged International League foe the Charlotte Knights (628,173).

Indianapolis also led MILB in attendance in 2013, finished runner-up to Charlotte in 2014, and was third last season behind Sacramento and Charlotte.

Parking moved ahead of BMW Championship

CARMEL — Due to inclement weather forecast for today and Friday, spectator parking locations for the first and second rounds of the 2016 BMW Championship have been changed.

For today and Friday only, spectator parking has been relocated to 2500 S. High School Road, Indianapolis. Complimentary shuttles will be provided from the former Indianapolis Airport property to the main entrance at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel.

All other lots — including C Lot, D Lot, H Lot, V Lot and BMW Owners Parking — remain unchanged.

Gates will open at 9 a.m. Thursday and Friday.
