Luana A. Williams, 90, Carthage, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born October 13, 1925, in New Castle, the daughter of Emmett and Marie (Land) Surber.
Luana had been employed at First National Bank in Knightstown and Charles A. Beard School Corporation. She was a member of Psi Iota XI Sorority and Knightstown United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for over 60 years. She enjoyed painting, knitting, crocheting and bird watching.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Ronald (Anita) Williams of Knightstown and daughter, Alora (Mark) Westra of Greenfield; four grandchildren, Jason (Angie) Perry of Indianapolis, Ryan (Ashley) Porter of Fishers, Jarrod (Allison) Perry of Greenfield, Rayann (Mikel) Knepley of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren, Alijah, Regan, Savannah, Max, Christian, Jayden, Beckett and Hayes; four nieces, LaDonna (Don) Willman of Straughn, Cynthia Kurz of Straughn, Lisa (Denny) Oakes of Wilkinson, and Patricia (Mike) Keller of Prineville, Ore.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey L. “Jim” Williams; and a brother, Ivan Surber.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, September 8, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, September 9 at Knightstown United Methodist Church with Pastor Curt Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery.
