The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually, and violations are labeled “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

Aug. 10

Pizza Hut

Location: 1010 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C/R – clean utensils have debris from touching stacked dirty dishes, to be corrected by Aug. 10; NC – clean hood and grates to remove build-up of grime/grease, remove drippage, to be corrected by Nov. 1; NC – drain for dish machine located in floor is backed up, plungered and service called; NC/R – paper towels are needed at hand sink near three-compartment sink, corrected; NC/R – trash receptacle near oven needs to be cleaned of food particles, grease/grime build-up, to be corrected by Nov. 1; NC – wall behind dish machine is beginning to deteriorate and pull away, to be corrected by Nov. 1; NC – need to clean as often as necessary to keep the wall behind the dish machine clean, removed mold-like substance, remove grease build-up around fryer wheels, clean floors under equipment, etc., to be corrected by Nov. 1.

Wal-Mart

Location: 1965 N. State Road 9, Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C – expired yogurt, corrected/discarded.

Papa John’s

Location: 1001 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C – peppers in hand sink by three-compartment sink, corrected; NC – repair coving that has broken off, to be corrected by Dec. 1; C – pre-cooked chicken wings not date-marked, corrected.

Aug. 11

Lincoln Square Pancake House

Location: 118 W. Main St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC – need to thaw hash brown potatoes properly, corrected; NC – clean upper side and interior lip of ice machines to remove grime and mold-like substance, to be corrected by Nov. 1; NC – exterior back door has gap at the door sweep, to be corrected by Nov. 1.

Los Agaves Grill

Location: 5965 W. Broadway St., McCordsville

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C – shrimp/beef at flame broil grill not cold enough, corrected; C – spray bottles filled with chemicals need to be labeled with common name, corrected.
