Wilma S. Hancock Woodruff, 81, Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at Hancock Regional Hospice. She was born on May 21, 1935, in Trafalgar, as the daughter of Fred and Anna (Betts) Scrogham. Wilma married John Hancock, Jr. After John’s passing, Wilma later married Donald J. Woodruff.

Wilma worked as an assembler for Western Electric for 26 years before retiring in 1985. Mrs. Woodruff was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Greenfield, Telephone Pioneers of America and the American Legion Auxiliary in Greenfield. She loved bingo, fishing, gardening, hunting for night crawlers, camping and spending time with her family.

Wilma is survived by her children, Betty Hancock of Greenfield and Daryl (Phyllis) Hancock of Kansasville, Wisc.; siblings, Kathleen (Paul) Conway of Greenfield, Doug (Charlotte) Scrogham of Franklin, John (Jewell) Scrogham of Wilkinson, Stanley Scrogham of Freedom and Terry Sisk of Avon; two grandsons, Rob (Amantha) Zemlick and Nick Zemlick, both of Greenfield; and four great-grandchildren, Garrett, Jordan, Gracie and Carolina.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; son, Donald Hancock; and siblings, Barbara Scrogham Tackett, Doris Ellen Scrogham, Ronnie Gilbert Scrogham and Connie Scrogham.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 3, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. at the mortuary. Burial will follow at Nineveh Cemetery in Nineveh, Ind.
