HANCOCK COUNTY — The U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency announced it will fund $185 million in farm operating loans.
The funding release will help struggling farmers on a wait list make it until the start of the fiscal year on Oct. 1, said FSA administrator Val Dolcini in a press release.
Despite a funding shortfall this year, USDA officials encourage farm borrowers to continue to apply for farm operating loans, as they are fulfilled on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, visit usda.gov.
