Theodore S. Hatfield, 88, Greenfield, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016. Theodore was born on July 06, 1928, in Monticello, Ky., to George F Hatfield and Lillian Hatfield (Denton).
Survivors include sons, Keith (Brenda) Hatfield, Ted (Darlene) Hatfield; daughters, Nancy (Stephen) Durham, Beth (Brian) Scott; several nieces and nephews; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Theodore was retired from Indiana Union Belt Railroad in Indianapolis as engineer, conductor and brakeman. He was also a brick mason. He served in the Army, Navy and National Guard. He left school in the 8th grade to help support his family. At the age of 64, he received his GED. Theodore was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and the American Legion. He enjoyed spending time at his shop, The Rusty Rail, at a local antique mall.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; wife, Cleo (Wickersham) Hatfield; daughter, Pamela Hatfield; brothers , George Francis Hatfield Jr., Rex Bunch, and Earl Hatfield; sisters, Nell Morris, Louise Morris, Imogene Floyd, Sue Marcum, Faye Woody, Kaye Hatfield; granddaughters Bitsy Durham and Ashley Burton.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, September 3, at Faith United Methodist Church, Greenfield, with Pastor Kenneth Floyd officiating. A Memorial Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the church.
