The 70th gathering of the Schwier family reunion was conducted Aug. 14 at the Cohron family homestead, 6134 N. Carroll Road, Indianapolis. Hosts for the day were Joan Schwier Cohron and her children Bill and Arlene Cohron, Brad and Michele Cohron, and Karen (Cohron) and Larry Rhoads. They are descendants of Edward and Sadie (Rode) Schwier.

Those in attendance are the descendants of the 10 children of Friedrich Wilhelm and Christine Marie Lenore (Rosener) Schwier, whose farm was located on the northwest corner of 300S and 700W, New Palestine. The family is now in the sixth generation. A total of 170 family members were present, including eight first cousins of the second generation. Several family members came from as far away as northern California.

Those who attended enjoyed food, games and the annual meeting.
