Man caught selling drugs near elementary school

GREENFIELD — A Greenfield man was arrested Tuesday after he was caught dealing narcotic drugs near a Greenfield elementary school, police said.

Dakota Simmermeyer, 21, 126½ N. Franklin St., sold drugs to a confidential informant for the Greenfield Police Department on at least four occasions, court records state. Three times, he sold the drugs within 500 feet of an elementary school, according to investigators.

He now faces nine felony charges: one Level 5 felony count of corrupt business influence; three Level 4 felony counts of dealing narcotic drugs; one Level 5 felony count of dealing narcotic drugs; three Level 5 felony counts of possession of a narcotic drug; and one Level 6 felony count of possession of a narcotic drug.
