Reward offered for tips on gun store break-ins

GREENFIELD — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect who burglarized a Hancock County gun store Thursday, officials said.

Thieves broke into J&M Sporting Goods in the 3500 block of U.S. 40 in Greenfield just before 3 a.m. Thursday, police said.

Twelve handguns and rifles were taken, but no suspects have been identified.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is a national agency that investigates the illegal use and trade of firearms. Its agents are working closely with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department to investigate the local case, police said.
