To the editor:

I would like to address all people who go out to have a nice meal at times. Have a little patience with the servers, cooks and managers. Some restaurants have to cook food at the time it is ordered, so enjoy each other’s company while it is being prepared. Fast food places have some food in the warmers, so it is faster to prepare for you.

Also, just because it took longer than you anticipated for food to be brought to your table, show a little courtesy and don’t expect the manager to give you your food free. Perhaps we could ask nicely to be given a warm sandwich if at the moment we get our food it is lukewarm.

It gets hectic at times when a restaurant is full, and maybe on that particular night one or two of the servers did not come to work. As customers we never know what each server, cook or manager is going through in their restaurants.

It is nice to have a night out at any restaurant, so please put on your happy face and let’s show the managers and their employees how much we appreciate their hard work.

God tells us to “do unto others as we would have them do unto us.”
