The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually, and violations are labeled “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

July 28

Zapp Thai Restaurant

Location: 2045 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC – store wiping cloths in sanitizer between uses, sanitizer should have 50ppm chlorine minimum, to be corrected by Oct. 1; NC – repair/replace lights where they are not working, to be corrected by Oct. 1; NC – cover food on line and in walk in cooler with lids, to be corrected by Oct. 1; do not store clean knives with knives that are not clean, to be corrected by Oct. 1; NC – dish machine wash cycle needs to be 120 degrees, to be corrected by Oct. 1; C – utensils/bowls used to dispense food on prep line need to be cleaned every four hours, corrected.

Hometown Classic Pizza

Location: 12 W. Main St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC – clean ceiling fans and light fixtures in pizza prep area, to be corrected by Oct. 1.

Mom & Pop’s Grocery

Location: 203 S. Main St., Maxwell

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C – keep raw meats separate for ready to eat foods to prevent cross contamination, corrected; NC – continue to clean/organize, to be corrected by Oct. 1.

Aug. 2

Ro’s Bar and Grill

Location: 1514 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC – lights that are not working need replaced/repaired, to be corrected by Nov. 1; C/R – cheese stacked too high at cold holding prep table and is above 41 degrees, corrected/discarded; C – need to date mark pan of coleslaw, corrected/discarded; NC – wiping cloths need to be stored in sanitizer between uses, to be corrected by Nov. 1; NC – beer bottles cannot be stored in ice used as food, corrected.

Hancock Regional Hospital Hancock Wellness

Location: 8535 N. Clearview Drive, McCordsville

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C – need to date mark lunch meats when pulled from freezer and not to exceed seven days when held at 41 degrees or lower, corrected; C – expired cheese sticks and grilled chicken, corrected.

Strike Force Lanes

Location: 1539 W. Main St., Greenfield
