Lawrence E. “Larry” Galloway, 87, Greenfield, passed away Monday, August 22, 2016, at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born on August 11, 1929, in Spencer, Ind., as the son of Loral and Mary (Radcliff) Galloway.

He graduated from New Palestine High School in 1948. Mr. Galloway served in the Navy during the Korean War and he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He married Beverly (Dowden) on July 19, 1952, in San Diego, Calif.

Larry worked for Huber, Hunt & Nichols in Indianapolis for 38 years before retiring in 1991. Mr. Galloway was a member of the Operating Engineers Union Local #103. He loved restoring antique cars and trucks. Larry loved fishing, woodworking, camping and spending time with his family.

Larry is survived by his wife, Beverly Galloway of Greenfield; children, Paula Carroll of New Palestine, Mark (Carol) Galloway of New Palestine and Karla (Mike) Morrison of Mobile, Ala.; sister, Beverly Leisure of Greenfield; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Thelma Miller, Pauline Booth and Helen Combs; and brother-in-law, C.W. Schilling.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, August 26, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, also at the mortuary. Chaplain Katherine Murray will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
