GREENFIELD — The public is invited to the Hancock County Master Gardeners’ monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Hancock County Extension Office, located on the county fairgrounds, 802 N. Apple St. in Greenfield.
This month’s featured speaker is Jerry Lehman, owner of Lehman Persimmons in Terre Haute, whose presentation is titled “Persimmons and Pawpaws.”
Lehman began breeding and testing persimmon varieties in 1990. He also breeds pawpaws and has won awards in the biggest pawpaw contest at the Ohio Pawpaw Festival five times in the past six years.
A business meeting of the Hancock County Master Gardeners will follow at 7:40 p.m.
