Anna L. Howard, 82, Buena Vista, passed away on August 17, 2016, in Greenfield. She was born on February 2, 1934, in Hamilton, Ohio, to the late Lee and Grace (Campbell) Hamblin.
She married W. Herman Howard on February 4, 1950, and he preceded her in death on November 9, 1993. Anna was an operator for Cincinnati Bell for 15 years. She then worked for 20 years at Howard’s Grocery Store in Buena Vista, retiring in 1979. She was a former member of Buena Vista Christian Church. She was very handy and enjoyed helping remodel her daughter’s homes, she was an avid gardener, and helped raise her grandchildren whom she loved very much.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary (Garry) Harsh of Buena Vista; Kathleen (H.Wayne) Peters of Greenfield, Janet L. Howard of Greenfield; six grandchildren, Kimberly (David) Hiatt, Jason Harsh, Jeff Harsh, Darius Burke, Christopher Peters, Katherine “Katie” Anne Peters; sister, Phyllis H. Ray of Fairfield, Ohio; and brother, Martin Hamblin of Fairland, Ohio.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, William H. Howard.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 22, at Moster Mortuary, 334 North Main St, Rushville, IN 46173. Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 23, at Buena Vista Christian Church, 25146 Stipps Hill Rd, Laurel, IN, with Rev. John Johnson presiding. Burial will follow in the Stipps Hill Cemetery.
