Ralph W. Wales, 83, Greenfield formerly of Wilkinson, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. He was born May 30, 1933, the son of the late Kenneth and Mable (Keck) Wales.
Ralph graduated from Wilkinson High School in 1951 and retired from General Motors in Anderson after 37 years of service. He and his wife, Sharon, just celebrated 64 years of marriage. He was an avid outdoors man who loved fishing, hunting, and all sports. He spent lots of time attending basketball, football, and baseball for all of his children and grandchildren. He was a friend to many and never knew a stranger. He was a member of the Wilkinson Volunteer Fire Department, Shirley Masonic Lodge #531.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Wales of Greenfield; son, Dennis (Jill) Wales of Wilkinson; daughters, Debbie (Bill) Bolander of Florida, Deanna Chance of Greenfield, Darla (Bob) Miller of New Castle; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Winnie Roland of Lawrenceburg, Ind., Sue Golden of Syracuse, Ind.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sister, Sharon Jones; grandson, Cory Butcher; and son-in-law, Chuck Butcher.
Friend may call from 3 to 7 p.m., Friday August 19, at Condo and Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson. Funeral Service will be held immediately following visitation, at the funeral home with Pastor Tracy Wright officiating. Burial will be at a later date at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson.
