FEMA funds available for food pantries, utility assistance

HANCOCK COUNTY — Interlocal Community Action Program Inc., based in New Castle, announced recently that about $6,600 in Federal Emergency Management Agency Emergency Food and Shelter funds is available for Hancock County agencies.

The funds, disbursed to Indiana communities by FEMA, must be used for prevention of homelessness, utility assistance and food pantries.

A meeting for interested agencies will be conducted at 10 a.m. Aug. 26 at the Hancock County Public Library, Daily Reporter study room, 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield.
