Helen Mae McMahon, 92, Fairview, Ill. passed away at 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 14, 2016, at Graham Hospital in Canton. She was born October 28, 1923, in Warrington, Ind., to Ernest and Cecile (Trees) Harris.
She married Earl Whisler on September 4, 1942. He preceded her in death on September 15, 1942. She later married Gerald J. McMahon on December 24, 1944. He survives.
Helen was a homemaker at her family farm. She was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Fairview Lodge, a past member of the Fairview Sunshine Circle Club, and a member of the Warrington Nazarene Church in Warrington, IN and the Fairview Reformed Church.
She is survived by one sister, Marjorie Meeks of Largo, Fla.; one brother-in-law, Harold McMahon of Kewanee, Ill.; two sisters-in-law, Madine McMahon of Canton, Ill. and Juanita McMahon of Fairview, Ill.; nieces, Lori McMahon of Kewanee, Ill. and Linda (Dean) Pollock of LaTrobe, Pa.; nephew, Michael (Diane) Meeks of Pampano Beach, Fla.; cousins, Everett (Joni) Trees Jr., Doris Trees, Ruth Trees Cole, Linda (Paul) Trees Litten, and Holly (Joel) Trees Miller, all of Indiana; and many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother; her mother, Cecile Trees Harris; and her stepfather, Ernest Harris.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 20, at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton, Ill. Burial of ashes will be at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson, Ind. at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fairview Reformed Church.
