Borinstein Family: Lisa, Luke and Emma

On August 12, 2016, a tragic event took the lives of Lisa Kay (Colestock) Borinstein, Luke Borinstein and Emma Borinstein. Lisa was born on October 30, 1963, in Greenfield, as the daughter of Ervin and Sandra (Miller) Colestock. Luke was born on June 23, 1997, in Indianapolis. Emma was born on May 24, 2001 in Indianapolis.

Lisa is a 1981 graduate of Morristown High School. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Indiana University. Lisa married John Borinstein on May 22, 1993, in Indianapolis. She worked for Community East Surgery Center and ER and most recently for Community Hospital North Surgery Center. She was a member of Brookville Road Community Church. She loved her kids, her mother, her family, and her Lord Jesus; she also loved being a nurse and caring for people.

Luke is a 2015 graduate of Triton Central High School, where he was the Valedictorian. He was entering his sophomore year at Wabash College. Luke loved the Lord Jesus and was a member of Brookville Road Community Church. He also was a member of Wabash Christian Men, Global Health Initiative, and the Public Health Organization at Wabash College. He was looking forward to a career as a doctor and enjoyed tutoring students in his free time.

Emma was a sophomore at Triton Central High School, where she was a straight A student. She was a member of the Sunshine Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and Brookville Road Community Church. She also participated in volleyball and tennis.

Lisa, Luke and Emma are survived by Drew and Beau Borinstein; Sandy “Mo” Colestock; Joseph (Wilma) Borinstein, Gail (Fred) McCashland; Kim (Chris) Everhart; Lori (Ted) Starkey; Cathy Borinstein, Bill (Pam) Borinstein; and Bob (Jeannie) Borinstein.

They were preceded in death by John Borinstein; Ervin Colestock; and Buzzy Borinstein.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, at Triton Central High Gymnasium, 4774 W 600 N, Fairland, IN 46126. A fellowship gathering will immediately follow. Pastor Paul Romoser will be officiating. Burial will be at a later date in New Palestine Cemetery.
