McCORDSVILLE — McCordsville leaders have broadened the hours when construction can take place in town, but noise restrictions still apply to keep the area quiet for residents.

The town council voted Tuesday to amend the town’s noise ordinance. The amendment allows construction work to continue as late as 10 p.m., later than a previous cutoff of 7 p.m., but specifies that is for interior work.

The amendment also limits hours large trucks can be outside idling at a site but gives Public Works Commissioner Ron Crider discretion in making exceptions for projects in commercial or industrial districts.
