Barbara R. (Roland) Walls, 80, Knightstown, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016, at St. Vincent Hospital following a brief illness. She was born April 30, 1936, in Knightstown the daughter of Leroy and Emma (McKee) Roland.

She retired from Walmart following 18 years of service working in Greenfield and New Castle. She was a member of Knightstown First Christian Church. An avid bowler she bowled in several leagues in Greenfield and New Castle for several years. She also coached the girl’s softball team at Sunset Park who went undefeated for 3 years in a row. She enjoyed all flowers especially her roses. Barbara’s greatest pasttime was spoiling her grandkids and great-grandkids.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of nearly 54 years, James E. Walls of Knightstown; four children, Teri (Russ) Hooker of Greenfield, Traci Boris (Dave Karandos) of Indianapolis, Rick Harris of Greenfield and David (Kim) Walls of Greensboro; grandchildren, Kyle Jordan, Stephanie Hooker, Kara (Dan) Llewellyn, Chris Harris, Robyn (Ryan) Shepherd, Courtney (Jeff) Christian, Nichole Walls (Jeremy Putnam), Elle Walls, Josh Walls, Max Boris, Isabella Karandos, Rylie Jordan, Taylor Karandos and Karli Karandos; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sue (Junior) Dudley of Bonita Springs, Fld. and Judi (George) Atkins of Knightstown; two brothers, Laddy Roland of Poland, Ind. and Mitchell (Sheryl) Roland of Knightstown; two sisters-in-law, Amanda Roland of Knightstown and Winnie Roland of Lawrenceburg, Ind.; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Randy Jordan; four brothers, Jack, Wilford, Lawrence (Whitey), and Harry Roland.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, August 9, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel. Services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 10, at the funeral home with Richard Thayer and Anthony Darling officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Indianapolis Zoo.
