Arthur H. “Art” Byers, 79, Greenfield, and formerly of Albany, Ky., passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016, at his residence in Greenfield. He was the son of Selbert and Ermon (Hays) Byers.
He is survived by his wife, of 58 years, Rachael Ann Byers of Greenfield; brothers, John T. Byers of New Castle, Earl (Susan) Byers of Frankfort, Ky., Weldon (Marilyn) Byers, Stevie (Anna Ruth) Byers of Albany, Ky.; sisters, Nadine (Don) Dalton of New Castle, Elaine (Michael) Craft of Somerset, Ky., Mary (Larry) Brown, Lois (Bobby) Thrasher of Albany, Ky., a sister-in-law, Alberta (Charles) Glidewell of Greenfield, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, plus a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Eula Piercey Sutton; sister-in-law, Charlene Byers.
Funeral services for Art, were conducted Monday, August 8, in the Chapel of Campbell-New Funeral Home with Brother Larry Brown officiating. A Masonic Service was held the evening of Sunday, August 7,by Beech Bottom Lodge Number 788. Burial followed in the Davidson Cemetery in Pickett County, Tenn.
